Cloverdale visits St. Vincent on Saturday

The Cloverdale High School baseball and softball teams are alive and well this week, as they near the end of their respective league schedules, each approaching the finish line with an eye toward the postseason.

The NBL Redwood championship tourney delivered picture-perfect fall conditions—mid-70s temperatures, bluebird skies, dry fairways and firm greens. The setting helped the Healdsburg girls golf team finish the regular season with a flawless 10–0 record in league play.

The Lady Eagles took their first step toward a coveted North Coast Section Division-3 soccer title on Saturday, slipping past a stubborn Clear Lake squad 1-0 in overtime at Jack Allen Stadium.

The CHS varsity baseball Eagles remain in hot pursuit of their first season win after suffering another pair of pre-league setbacks last week.

The Cloverdale Eagles were crowned champions of the NCL-1 last week, closing out the league campaign with convincing wins over St. Helena and Clear Lake to secure their first basketball title in five years.

The total amount of $70,835 was down slightly from last year’s $74,160, still the largest single-year donation given by the Boosters. It is a half-century-old organization of parents and former athletes who want to keep helping out the school’s sports.

The Healdsburg boys basketball team ended the first half of their season with a 3-9 record, while the Rio Lindo Academy boys and girls teams both ended with a 4-4 record heading into the Christmas break.
