Cloverdale represented in two age divisions

The girls swim team from Healdsburg High School delivered their strongest performance in years at the North Bay League’s windy championships last weekend.

While the boys were toughing out their North Bay League Redwood playoff schedule, the girls softball team also made the league playoffs. They lost their last game of the regular season 11-0 against Piner, but their 4-7 Redwood division record qualified them for the four-team pennant playoff. Here's what happened next...

“Scholarship Night is truly a testament to the generosity of the community of Healdsburg and how much our town cares about our young people,” said Shelley Anderson, the school’s scholarship coordinator. “Because of our robust and bountiful scholarship program and donors, many of our HHS graduates are able to get their four-year degrees with minimal or no debt.”

When last we checked in with the Lady Greyhounds in their hunt for a follow-up championship season in the Redwood division, they had just dispatched the Elsie Allen Wolves with ease, 62-9. But dreams of another undefeated league season evaporated in the next game when they took to the road against Ukiah High, new to the NBL-Redwood league.

Cloverdale High School baseball and softball teams are nearing the finish line in league play this month, hoping to build momentum for what is hoped will be a strong postseason run.

Healdsburg High's boys and girls soccer teams have been battling it out in preseason play, with the boys currently holding a 3-5-0 record and the girls 3-1-2.
