WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE — A blue heron watched progress (or lack
thereof) on the summer crossing and dam installed at Vacation Beach
every year. Work on the summer crossing was completed last week but
Russian River Recreation and Park District workers said high water
flowing in the River has delayed installation of the dam that was
scheduled to be completed June 19. Work resumed this week on the
dam, which creates a lake for swimming and boating between Vacation
Beach and Guerneville, in hopes of completing it before the July 4
holiday.
