The irregular thwack-thwop-pop of tennis rises up from the high school courts every afternoon of the week, and often on weekends, as the student-athletes of Healdsburg High School hone their serves, returns, backspins and lobs. It seems worth the while: The school’s boys tennis team is definitely competitive this year.
"Our team is still relatively young and will be returning all 12 athletes next year, as we do not have any seniors. We will continue to develop and hope to compete for league next year," said Coach Josh Cavanagh.
A UTR event will be held at the high school on April 28. The Universal Tennis Rating system promotes fair and competitive play across the tennis world. All players, regardless of age, gender, geography, or skill level, are rated on the same scale based on actual match results...
