This week, the Healdsburg Tribune sports a fresh new look. We should all look this good when we’re 160 years old.
Our editorial design team spent the past year trying out multiple variations and then worked with the Danilo Design Group to bring our vision to life. We’re thrilled to unveil a redesign that reflects the heritage and aesthetic values of the city we serve.
The size is compact, the pages more focused. The typography is clean and modern with a classic heritage, crisp layouts and clean visuals.
This dynamic remake sets the stage for our future evolution as Healdsburg’s hometown media company. Our missionis to report on news and culture, stay relevant and deliver a publication that’s as vibrant as the people who call the Healdsburg area home.
Ultimately, a newspaper belongs to the community. Please let us know what you think of the new look. What stories do you want to see? What’s missing? We’d like to hear from you.
I see we’ve moved to a tabloid format. Considering the Tribune is now owned by a publisher of such format, it’s not wholly surprising. But it’s still concerning.
Usually this format has much worse content-to-ad ratios than broadsheet format newspapers (what the Tribune was before). So we’ll be keeping a close eye on that.
Chances are, all of the newspaper boxes that sell the Tribune will probably have to be replaced, but that’s not a big deal in the end.
Oh, hell, why not just put the Spittoon on a postcard and be done with it?
