Holiday Changes

Windsor will not hold a Summer Night on the Green this Thursday due to the pending Fourth of July celebration. It will return on July 9, with the Ryan Woodard Band.

The Cloverdale Friday Night Live concert this week is canceled; it will return on July 10 with Spike Sikes & His Awesome Hotcakes. See full summer schedule and more information at cloverdaleartsalliance.org.

The City of Healdsburg offices will be closed on Friday, July 3, for the holiday. The City Council will hold no meetings the month of July, but returns to business on Monday, Aug. 3.

Thursday, July 2

Art Nite 

The first Thursday of the month is Art Nite Healdsburg, a community event celebrating art and creativity with over 20 galleries participating in a casual walk-around event downtown, with other complementary businesses. For details see ArtNiteHealdsburg.com.

Paradise, Kentucky

Grayson Jenkins was born and raised in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky (yes, the one from John Prine’s “Paradise”). He will perform Thursday evening upstairs at Little Saint. Nate Lopez delivers groove-based jazz interpretations of pop songs at Furthermore Wines on Thursday from 5:30-8:30pm at its 328-A Healdsburg Ave. tasting room. Also on the holiday weekend, bebop guitarist Carl Rosenblum appears Friday, July 3, and Brazilian pianist Carlos Pereira on Sunday, July 5. Poison Plant

Little Shop of Horrors is the musical adaptation of a cult 1960s sci-fi movie with, remade and brought to the stage by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (who later wrote music for Disney). This Thursday only it’s pay-what-you-want admission, doors at 7pm. Subsequent dates are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sunday matinees at 2pm, through July 12. Friday, July 3

Santa Cruz Americana

The popular Americana band the Coffis Brothers makes the drive from Santa Cruz to Healdsburg for their appearance at the Elephant in the Room to raise the flag for independence. 8pm, $15 cover, 117 Healdsburg Ave.

Saturday, July 4

Market Day

Spend a Saturday morning at the Healdsburg Certified Farmers’ Market, the place for shopping and connecting with the agricultural community. Buy fresh local produce, snacks and crafts, and listen to live music. From 8:30am till noon at the Foley Family Community Pavilion, 3 North St.

Art Exhibit

“Local Color” is the subject of this month’s exhibition at the Upstairs Art Gallery of oil paintings by Linda Barretta that tap into the vivid natural hues found in the region. Saturday from 3-6pm, meet the artist at the gallery to learn more about her work; refreshments will be provided. Open daily at 306 Center St., 11am to 6pm.

Annual Celebration

Healdsburg celebrations of Independence Day include the annual Fourth of July Celebration/Duck Dash in the Healdsburg Plaza, co-hosted by the Rotary Club of Healdsburg Sunrise and the City of Healdsburg, 10am to 1pm on Saturday, July 4.

Fireworks Show

Healdsburg’s Independence Day Fireworks are launched from the HHS playing field at about 9:30pm on Saturday, continuing for roughly half an hour. For more information on this year’s show, including road closures and viewing locations, visit healdsburg.gov/fireworks

Elephant Jazz
