A TV news crew from the Bay spoke to Keonta Gilmer, the delivery truck driver who shot the viral video. He told reporters that the woman who had yelled at him later reached out to say, “Hey, take this video down, it’s going to ruin my life.” But he hasn’t felt her remorse to be genuine. “Treat people how you want to be treated,” Keonta said. “Don’t throw rocks and hide your hand. That’s also how I feel with the apology. Because if it had never gotten to this point, would she have said anything at all?” (Image: KRON4 via YouTube)

Another person in town frustrated with Future Farmers parade traffic on Thursday, May 22, apparently took it out on a pair of Black delivery truck drivers whose vehicle was blocking her car — and unfortunately for the woman in question, the whole thing was caught on video. “Everything else is blocked off, I can’t get out!” she can be seen shouting at them. She then stomps away, drops an F bomb and, finally, calls them the N word.

The truck driver who originally who posted the video on TikTok and Instagram over FFA weekend — along with the online influencers who picked up this classic small-town “Karen” scene for their own commentary vids and journalists whom she suspected might try to cover the story, including the Tribune’s own Christian Kallen — reported receiving sloppily written cease-and-desist letters from the woman, threatening legal action if they publicized the video, called her out, etc.

The cringy footage of her outburst has since circulated ad infinitum on TikTok and Reddit and Facebook and pretty much every other social-media platform known to man, racking up many millions of views and impassioned comments. I don’t want to pile on by getting into this person’s identity and relationship to Healdsburg. It’s all out there on the internet, if you feel the need to find it. This chick obviously screwed up big-time — but cancel culture can be a killer, too. May she, and we as a community, do better next time.
