Healdsburg’s Shakespeare in the Park returns this August
The Raven Players will be performing an abridged version of the complete works of William Shakespeare during the upcoming Shakespeare in the Park series, which will start on Aug. 12 and run through Aug. 29.

Healdsburg adds a fashion show to Pride Month
Though Santa Rosa and other communities in Sonoma County have already hosted Pride events, in Healdsburg all the action is this coming weekend, including a Pride Movie Night and a Rainbow Runway show at the Pavilion, followed by a Tea Dance for “music, movement, and connection.”

Is there such a thing as “the most coveted New Year’s Eve party in Healdsburg”? According to the Quinn Public Relations firm, there is—and it’s at the new Appellation Healdsburg. Considering it only opened for business in September, that’s quite an accomplishment.
Vital Living: Pleasure versus happiness
At the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco last Tuesday, I chaired a program on Food Addiction. The panel included doctors, clinicians, and scientists from all over the country and Canada. It was an incredible event and everyone learned so much; the physical elements of food addiction such as dopamine release, (ah, pleasure…) the correlation of fats/salt and sugar to food addiction, and certainly the psychology behind food addiction were so interesting. Then there are policy implications by acknowledging food addiction as ‘real’ –a program in itself.
