Friday: Opening night of a two-week run of the three-actor play T-Bone N Weasel by Jon Klein, featuring Aldo Billingslea. Set in the South Carolina of decades past, it will be staged Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights at 7pm, Sunday matinees at 2pm at The 222.

Three Healdsburg men continue to save lives by distributing Narcan nasal spray throughout Healdsburg public locations, as first reported two years ago in the Tribune. Now they are putting up signs to make the life-saving antidote easier to find.

Earlier this month, U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued a new advisory highlighting the connection between alcohol consumption and a higher risk of cancer. Alcohol use ranks as the third leading preventable cause of cancer in the United States, following tobacco use and obesity, and is linked to an increased risk for at least seven different types of cancer. The city of Healdsburg is only just beginning to craft a South Entry Area Plan, a process that is expected to cost about $1.5 million. Although the plan is expected to get underway in 2024, City Manager Jeff Kay stressed that it is in its earliest stages.

One of the largest track meets in the area took place last weekend at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa. Known as the Viking Track Classic, the 33rd year of the meet saw more than 60 high school teams show up for the day-long competition on Saturday, April 20.

125 Years Ago: The laying of the corner-stone of the Presbyterian Church on Friday afternoon took place with great eclat. The weather was fine and the attendance large. There were representatives from every denomination and the addresses were excellent.

“Today we joked that we were going to have to throw away the balls after the match, because everyone was hitting so hard,” said coach Mary Beth Chandler after the match. “It isn’t an exaggeration.”
