The Windsor track team will send four athletes to the
prestigious Meet of Champions this weekend, by virtue of
outstanding performances turned at the North Coast Section
Championships on Saturday.
The NCS meet, hosted by San Marin High School in Novato,
involved some 25 teams and 300 athletes who qualified with a
top-four finish at their league meet a week earlier. Windsor was
represented by a dozen athletes looking for a top-seven finish,
which would advance them to the Meet of Champions at Edwards
Stadium in Berkeley on May 26 and 27.
Moving on to the MOC are: senior Justin McQuaid (6th-place,
3,200 meters), senior Richie Larsen (2nd-place 110m hurdles),
junior Matt Daugherty (6th-place, 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles) and
freshman Laura Rogina (9th-place, 1,600m). Rogina gained a spot at
the MOC when two girls dropped out the event.
Below are the individual results for Windsor athletes who
finished in the top 15 at the NCS meet on May 20. Note: complete
results were not available.
