Apple Game — El Mo’s Stephanie Singler (21) worked on Analy

It was a successful weekend of girls hoops for at least one
local team, as the Analy Lady Tigers took two of three in the Puma
Invitational Tournament hosted by Maria Carrillo.
Analy (3-5) opened the tourney with a 49-32 loss to Justin
Siena, but rebounded to defeat cross-town rival El Molino, 50-31,
and Windsor, 52-49. 
Meanwhile, the Lady Lions  (2-6) were not as fortunate, dropping
all three games played in the same tournament, including a 38-26
loss to Maria Carrillo. On Monday, the Lions fell to Terra Linda,
47-37.
Apple game preview 
Local hoops fans got a sneak preview of upcoming Apple battles
in Friday’s game two of the Carrillo tourney. It was the Katy Lowry
show, as the Analy shooting guard lit up the scoreboard for a
career-high 36 points.  
The game was competitive through the first three quarters, as
the Tigers took a 31-25 lead at the end of three.  Analy put the
hammer down in the final period, outscoring the Lions, 19-6 the
rest of the way to post a 19-point victory
Junior forward Shayna Levine led all El Mo scorers with 11
points. Other Tiger contributors were Van Houten (4), Adri
Fernandez (3), Nina Henelsmith (3), Klebe (2), and Schuster (2).
Claire Sullivan and Pricert were tough on the boards with eight and
seven rebounds respectively.
Stat leaders  
Analy senior forward Chelsea Pricert led the attack against
Justin Siena, pouring in a team-high 14 points. Other contributors
were Katy Lowry (11 points), Tricia Klebe (3) points), Ali Van
Houten (2 points), and Molly Schuster (1 point, 6 rebounds, 4
steals). 
Lowry was back at the top of the scoring column in Analy’s win
over Windsor on  Saturday, chipping in 22 points. Other offensive
leaders were Pricert (8 points, 10 boards), Van Houten (6),
Fernandez (5), Henelsmith (4), Klebe (3), and two points each from
Kristina Brockman, and Schuster.  
El Mo senior forward Siera Taylor led the attack against Maria
Carrillo with eight points.
Scheduling notes
The Lady Tigers resume pre-season action against visiting Elsie
Allen next Monday, Dec. 20, and entertain San Marin on Tuesday,
Dec. 21. Analy will visit Tamalpais next Wednesday, Dec. 22. All
varsity games start at 7:30 p.m. 
The Lions are back on the court this Friday, Dec. 17 when they
host Elsie Allen (7:30 p.m.).
