When “people of color” are talked about in history and media, the predominant picture that’s imagined is a black person being kicked out of a restaurant or a Mexican person being detained for being here illegally.
Have a Great Fourth
Not all Fourth of Julys have been as historic as this year seems to be. We stand just 10 or so generations beyond the original 1776 founding of our country and our Declaration of Independence.
First class hospital
It is Wednesday, September, 17, 2014, I’m writing from Room 111B at Healdsburg District Hospital (HDH). My room overlooks a lovely courtyard, for which I am most grateful as I recover from my right knee replacement by Drs. Tomasin and Rose.

Día de Muertos celebrates 9th year in the Plaza
Despite the weekend’s rain, Corazón Healdsburg’s ninth annual Día de Muertos celebration brought around 2,500 community members into the heart of downtown Healdsburg for a vibrant and heartfelt tribute to loved ones who passed during the past year.
