Scene Seen: Live Music in Cloverdale in April
What’s the difference between a violin and a fiddle? Nothing, really, except maybe an approach to playing it and the musical style. Fiddle is actually just a nickname for the violin, although any bowed string instrument can be called a fiddle (or so Wikipedia tells me). But most of the time, a fiddle is a violin. Just played in a different style.
Preparing for an onslaught of rain
Cloverdale city staff set up a sand pile at Cloverdale City Park this week in preparation for a predicted atmospheric river. The self-serve sand bag station is available for residents who need sand to help prevent flooding.

Jefferson carnival, Sept. 20
Jefferson Elementary held its school carnival on Sept. 20. The carnival included an inflatable obstacle course, face painting, bean bag toss and more.
Promotion Parade, June 4
A parade was held for Washington School eighth graders Thursday night, June 4, to help celebrate promoting students' who are on their way to high school. Parents drove students down North Cloverdale Boulevard as families and loved ones cheered them on.Â
Police Log, April 21 – 27
12:08pm An accident occurred on East Street at Plaza Street. The RP indicated she pulled out of a construction site and hit another vehicle or the other vehicle hit her. The accident was never determined to be a hit and run, and there was no visible damage to the RP’s vehicle. An officer responded and took a report. Â
Risk of Coronavirus low, but local agencies are ready, monitoring
Statements release by both the Sonoma County Department of Health Service (DHS) and the Sonoma County Office of Education reveal that while local officials believe the risk of coronavirus in Sonoma County is low, they are preparing anyway.
