Bronze bodies and rippling muscles will be the rule next month
when the California Natural Bodybuilding, Fitness, and Figure
Championship return to Windsor on Aug. 7.
This year’s event, which figures to attract more than 50
competitors, will be presented at the Windsor High School Theater
by the Amateur Bodybuilding Association, with a big assist from
Event Director Chris Murray.
The Body-Building Championships are a drug free event where
athletes must pass stringent testing prior to the competition, a
big departure from the days when steroids and other enhancements
dominated the sport. The competition will include classes for
teenage, women, men, and masters athletes. The pre-judging starts
at noon and the finals begin at 6 p.m.
“This could be the best show to date because many of our
competitors will be qualifying for the upcoming Natural Olympia in
Reno on Nov. 10 to 14,” said Murray, returning for his sixth year
with the event. “The Natural Olympia is recognized as one of the
largest Natural Bodybuilding events, where the best of the best
athletes compete against each other from all over the world.”
