Nothing has come easily for the Jaguars in the first season following North Bay League realignment, navigating a division that has no gimmies on the schedule.

This week’s Our Lady of Guadalupe Church’s Catholic Youth Organization game of the week was a fifth grade girls 29-8 win over St. John’s of Healdsburg. First year coaches Chris Trusendi and James Leandro improved their North Bay CYO record to 4-1.

It may have taken the better part of a decade, but all was forgiven on Jan. 14 when the El Molino boys soccer team slipped past Piner 3-2 for their first league win.

It’s been a challenging start for Analy and El Molino on the North Bay League varsity basketball circuit, as both struggle to compete in their respective divisions.

Happy days may be here again for local girls basketball fans, as Analy and El Molino continue to impress on the high school circuit.

The Lady Eagles continued to pile up wins on the league basketball circuit, claiming Fort Bragg (50-41), Lower Lake (62-44) and Willits (61-27) as their latest victims.

The varsity basketball Eagles are coming off one of their best stretches of the winter basketball campaign, scoring successive wins over Fort Bragg (67-53), Lower Lake (79-65) and Willits (82-42).

Wrestling season kicked into high gear for the defending league champion Windsor High School Jaguars, opening the newly aligned North Bay League Oak Division with a pair of dual meet wins. The Jags (2-0) kicked off the stretch on Jan. 8 in a showdown with Cardinal Newman, soundly defeating the Cardinals, 51-21.

The Lady Jaguars took their lumps in a tough stretch on the high school basketball circuit, logging consecutive NBL losses to Analy (66-41) and Cardinal Newman (71-25) before tossing in a 61-27 non-league loss to Piedmont.
