The winds of change will almost certainly blow this month in the form of high school athletic realignment, as officials from the North Coast Section will ultimately decide the fate of its member leagues.

The Windsor Wicked 12 and under girls fast-pitch softball team is in the midst of an outstanding summer on the Northern California tournament circuit, most recently capturing first place in the Bill Bowen Invitational Tournament held in Sonoma on July 21-23. Windsor won all five of their games over the three-day weekend event.

In an exciting year of sports at Cloverdale High School, the Eagles finished off a successful spring in great fashion with impressive individual and team efforts. The tennis team brought home an elusive championship, softball continued to have a dominant program and the track and field teams produced nine All-Leaguers en route to an impressive showing at the NCS Class A Championships.

The varsity basketball Jaguars played host to 11 other participating teams on July 15-16 at the annual Summer Shootout Tournament at Windsor High School, a two-day event that featured some 140 high school athletes looking to hone their skills.

Windsor High School’s girls varsity lacrosse coaches are determined to introduce local high school and middle school girls to the sport of lacrosse.

Team optimistic for much improved fall campaign

Saturday, July 1 marked the end of the 2017 Little League baseball campaign for Cloverdale all stars, as the 12-year-old Majors squad was officially eliminated from District 35 tournament action.
