The Analy swim team resumed league action in a dual meet with Piner on April 8 at Ives Pool, with both varsity teams out-pointing the Prospectors.

It was a perfect day for baseball on Sunday, April 3, as the Cloverdale Little League celebrated with Opening Day ceremonies at Daly Field. Festivities included the parade of teams, an invocation by Pastor Thomas Craig, the playing of the National Anthem (sung by Ariana Fernandez) and the first pitch thrown by Michael Nixon of Papa’s Pizza. This year’s CLL features 182 players filling out 16 teams from T-Ball to the Junior Division. Regular season games run from April to the end of May, followed by the Tournament of Champions and finishing with the District-35 All-Star tournaments in July.

The Cloverdale High School JV softball team had a great showing at its own tournament last weekend, winning two of three games to take home a second place trophy.

Sunny skies and breezy conditions met a small Cloverdale contingent on April 2 at the annual Chip Castleberry Invitational Track meet hosted by Analy High School in Sebastopol. The meet included hundreds of athletes and more than two dozen participating teams, including Cloverdale, Analy, El Molino, Fort Bragg, Healdsburg, Montgomery, Petaluma, Piner, Maria Carrillo, Rincon Valley Christian, San Mateo, Sonoma, Technology and Windsor.

SEBASTOPOL - The running gods were smiling on Saturday, April 2, as sunny skies and breezy conditions greeted more than a dozen participating teams at the annual Chip Castleberry Invitational Track meet hosted by the Tigers.

It was a good week for West County high school baseball teams, as the Lions and Tigers combined for three wins in four outings in the opening stretch of the Sonoma County League schedule.
