This year’s girls Greyhounds Varsity Volleyball team finished with a 7-20 record overall, fifth in their league at 3-7. But that never stopped the team from coming out and playing with a vibrancy that only high school girls volleyball can exhibit.

Healdsburg's Hailey Webb led the Lady Greyhounds to a 69-47 win over Cloverdale with 32 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and two steals, while the boys' varsity team ended a six-game losing streak with a 57-48 win over Jim Elliot Christian.

It was a good opening week for west county volleyball teams, with both Analy and El Molino logging wins in the newly aligned North Bay League.

26th annual event a boon to local economy

Local high school softball teams managed to get in a couple of games in limited spring break action, as Analy slipped by non-league opponents Pinole Valley (3-0) and Tamalpais (6-1), while El Molino came up just short in a 17-12, 8-inning slugfest against Fort Bragg.
