The 2021 season figures to be a good one for the newly formed West County High School (WCHS) varsity volleyball squad, with an infusion of increased numbers and talent adding to an already strong program.

The West County High School (WCHS) football team couldn’t have scripted a better start to the 2021 campaign on Friday, staging a dramatic, fourth-quarter comeback to defeat visiting Santa Rosa, 35-34 in the season opener at Karlson Field.

Healdsburg High School boy’s basketball coach Yasha Mokaram recently announced that he is stepping down after five seasons, citing family considerations for his decision.

The “Bear” Gray football era got off to electrifying start on Friday, as the first-year Healdsburg head coach led the Greyhounds to 20-14, come-from-behind victory in the high school season opener at Fort Bragg.   

An annual tradition will be renewed this week as high school football season returns to the west county.

The Healdsburg High School Greyhound Boosters Club will host the 22nd “Almost Annual” Golf Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 3 at the Healdsburg Golf Club at Tayman Park.

The much-anticipated start of the 2021 high school football season has arrived, as the Greyhounds get set for what is hoped will be a competitive and exciting fall campaign.

The sky may be the limit for the newly formed West County High School cross country team as it prepares to make a run at a league title this fall.  

It may have been a result that nobody wanted, but administrators, educators and coaches are making the most of a challenging situation in the wake of the consolidation of Analy and El Molino high schools.
