Cloverdale High School baseball and softball teams will start a new season this week, as both prepare for what could be strong North Coast Section playoff runs.

Healdsburg’s narrow path to an NBL Redwood baseball pennant opened a bit wider Wednesday afternoon. In dramatic fashion, the Greyhounds broke a 7-inning scoreless game on a two-out error by the Montgomery shortstop that allowed Tyler Swanson to score from second in the top of the eight inning.

Frustrated Hounds Come Up Short to Terra Linda

Last Friday night, in front of an excited and anxious home crowd, the Healdsburg Varsity Football team lost to the Terra Linda Trojans, unable to put an end to their three-game losing streak. The Hounds, who are now 3-5 overall, played an emotional game, especially in the second half, but their 28-19 loss to Terra Linda gives them a 0-4 record in league play.

Girls Hoops Teams on Winning Streaks

The Healdsburg Lady Greyhounds are on a 10-game winning streak, while the Rio Lindo Adventist Lady Spartans are on a roll with an 11-3 season record and 5-0 in the Small School Bridge league.
