Court Leader — Analy setter Marla Petrucci set the ball against

The Analy volleyball team wrapped up an outstanding season on
Nov. 17, falling to number-one seeded host Campolindo in a
five-game heartbreaker; 20-25, 25-16, 25-16, 24-26, and 15-13.
Leading a tremendous effort against the host Cougars were Claire
Sullivan (20 kills), Briana Adviento (13 digs), and Megan Winters
(12 digs).
“I thought we played Campo very well,” said Tiger coach Nancy
Williams. “We played great defense, passed and serve received and
that’s how we competed so well.  They were bigger than us, had more
effective blocking but we found the court well, exposing their
defensive weaknesses. It was just a matter of making a few
adjustments sooner and it could have been different, but still they
are a good team and they just won the NCS title,” she added.
The loss in the North Coast Section Division-3 semi-finals left
the Tigers one win away from a trip to the CIF Nor Cal State
Championships.
Analy ended the year with a string of accomplishments that
includes a seventh straight Sonoma County League title, a fifth
consecutive league tournament championship and an overall season
mark of 24-11.
“I’m proud of this team,” said Williams. “We knew it was going
to be a different season in terms of things not being as easy as
it’s been in the past. This team established its own identity,
making sure it didn’t just ride on the past success of previous
teams, and that’s why we were as successful as we were.”
