The West County was well represented at last weekend¹s
prestigious North Coast Section Swimming Championships in Walnut
Creek. The Analy contingent recorded a team score of 15 points,
which is the most in several years for a Tiger team.
Nearly all of the swimmers did better than their actual seeding
coming into the meet. Turning in outstanding individual
performances for the Tigers were: Hank Weinberger (50-freestyle,
15th in 22.81, 21st in 100-backstroke, 56.97), Max Horrell (11th in
the 100-butterfly, 53.97, 15th in the 100-backstroke, 55.83) and
Alison Blom (12th in the 100-butterfly, 59.22).
El Molino sophomore standout David Sallee was the top individual
finisher for the Lions, taking eighth-place in the 200-freestyle
(1:47.15) and ninth in the 100-freestyle (48.30).
Other top efforts were recorded by the Analy boys relay teams
which included: 200 medley (22nd-place- Horrell, Weinberger, Ben
Klotz, Daniel Shelton), 200 freestyle (37th-place-(Weinberger,
Shelton, Klotz, Garrett Anderson) and the 400 freestyle relay
(33rd-place-Horrell, Klotz, Russell Deghi, Brett Heath).
The Analy girls¹ 200 freestyle relay team of Blom, Amy
Tresenrider, Sarah Eastland and Hannah Weinberger placed 28th in
1:48.16. The foursome also captured 26th in the 400 freestyle relay
and 32nd in the 200 medley relay.
