The popular summer concert series Tuesdays in the Plaza continues with the Tierra Caliente music from La Sentencia de Tuzantla, featuring musicians from Michoacan. Arrive early to claim your space. Onsite food vendors offer locally sourced food for sale starting at 5pm, music from 6-8pm.

Pachanga! The city’s celebration of arts grants winners is Saturday Sept. 6 at the Healdsburg Plaza, starting at 5:30pm. This free and family friendly event shines a spotlight on the talented recipients of the Diversity in the Arts Grant as a Latin American fair with live music, dancers, photographers, visual artists and more.

Among this weekend's events is Taste of Sonoma, the long-running annual food and wine celebration from Sonoma County Tourism. It takes over Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate and Garden on Saturday from noon to 4pm. Over 100 wineries will participate, plus food trucks, a beer garden and more.

The beat of pounding feet, the jangle of spurs and the snap of whips marked the dances of Oaxaca in the Healdsburg Plaza last Sunday. The southern Mexican state is home to some 16 cultural groups and two major native languages. It’s about time a Michael Jackson tribute band showed up in town. “Rock With You – the Michael Jackson Experience” features two MJ tribute artists heading a 10-plus-piece live ensemble, claiming to be the only MJ tribute in the world to have 100% live vocals. Independence Day begins in Healdsburg at 10am with the traditional Kids Parade and Duck Dash, live music and activities for all including games, races and music. More fun later this week with our Healdsburg events calendar.

Sundays in the Plaza is an alternative to Tuesday’s big concert, from 1-3pm at the Plaza, this week featuring the Healdsburg Community Band. Gary Johnson will conduct big-band favorites, two-steps, marches, folk music, Broadway/movie music, a Spanish overture and the finale of the William Tell Overture. Free.

The popular summer Tuesday concert series continues with the celebrated Tom Rigney and Flambeau performing authentic Zydeco and Cajun music on Aug. 5. It's also National Night Out for law enforcement so get there early to meet the cops and claim your space.
