Healdsburg Chorus preparing for upcoming spring shows

The Healdsburg Chorus has several upcoming shows, including its first-ever performance in Sebastopol. The chorus will be performing in Sebastopol on April 24 and in Healdsburg on April 30 and May 1. The shows mark the return of the groups' spring shows, which in the last two years have been derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A new play is coming to The Raven starting Oct. 8

The Raven Performing Arts Theater will play host to a new show this October. The play, titled “Fully Committed,” is a one act, one person play that follows the day in the life of an out of work actor who’s working as a host at a high-end Manhattan restaurant.

Healdsburg’s Shakespeare in the Park returns this August

The Raven Players will be performing an abridged version of the complete works of William Shakespeare during the upcoming Shakespeare in the Park series, which will start on Aug. 12 and run through Aug. 29.

An intimate performing arts venue is opening at the Paul Mahder Gallery

A new nonprofit performance and arts venue called The 222 is opening in Healdsburg at the Paul Mahder Gallery on Aug. 21.

Healdsburg Center for the Arts has found a new home

After 20 years at the same quaint location at 130 Plaza St., the Healdsburg Center for the Arts (HCA) will be taking up new digs at 334 Center St. — the current home of Plaza Paints — and will reopen this fall.

Pancho Sanchez kicks off new jazz series at The Barlow, Oct. 13

Jazz music is known for adding some spice and flavor mixes to a listener’s evening, so why not add some real food to complete the sensory experience? That’s exactly what Jennifer Klein, founder of West County World Jazz, has planned for the inaugural concert on Oct. 13 at The Barlow Event Center. She will be pairing Latin jazz percussionist Pancho Sanchez and his band with a three course offering of Latin-inspired dishes by local chef Carlos Rosas of The Barlow’s Barrio restaurant.

Jewish Film Fest at Rialto Cinemas

For the next month, the Rialto will be home to the 24th annual Jewish Film Festival. The festival, which is put on by Sonoma County’s Jewish Community Center, will be showing films on select days from Oct. 10 to Nov. 12.
