WHEEL OF LIGHT December 2012

As the year draws to a close, let’s review some of the more important transiting energy patterns that have been, and will continue to be. In general, we can discern two primary themes emerging. One is transformation. Saturn transits indicate where we have work to do. Saturn entered Scorpio, the sign of transformation, in October. Whatever house (area of life) we have the early degrees of Scorpio in our natal chart needs to be worked on. The intention should be letting go of whatever is  old and stagnant in order to prepare for new beginnings in that same area in the future.

THE FISHING REPORT: Fall colors

The weather will have all changed by the time this report comes out middle of this week. The Thanksgiving weekend however provided absolutely spectacular fall Sonoma County days. Recent rains from last Tuesday’s storm had local and northern rivers on the rise and the report from the Sonoma County Water Agency is that record numbers of Chinook salmon are in the Russian River.

Staying healthy during the holidays

We all know the general rules of staying healthy during the holiday season — wash our hands, cover our coughs and sneezes and stay home from work (and holiday parties) when we’re sick. But what else can we do to give ourselves the best chance of staying happy and healthy during what can be a difficult time of year?

Shopping local from the comfort of your couch

There is nothing like traffic and bustling parking lots to take away some of our holiday cheer as we franticly fight crowds trying to get in and out of stores shopping for holiday meal ingredients and buying gifts for that special someone. This year, why not try a different approach and support your local vendors at the same time? Shopping online and keeping it local is easy.

THE FISHING REPORT: Transitions

Clearly summer has given way to winter and this period of time when everyone and everything has to adjust is upon us. Humans crank up their heaters and put on jackets. Animals take refuge in their expanded winter coats. Some birds fly south and some fish swim upstream. But all life is aware of the changes and adapts accordingly.
