City lands $7 million state grant for recycled water pipeline project
The City of Healdsburg will be receiving an over $7 million California Department of Water Resources grant to add 4.5 miles to its municipal recycled water distribution network and expand recycled water deliveries, a big win for the city when it comes to building drought resilience amid another year of dry conditions.
Two doctors teaming up to open a Sebastopol urgent care this August
A week before Dr. Libby Flower returned from Roseville with a U-Haul of medical equipment, the building that will soon house two primary cares and an urgent care in Sebastopol was practically empty. Moving forward on housing relief
So, sometimes government can move swiftly. I was very heartened to see PermitSonoma meeting last week to discuss efforts to both replace housing in the county, and find ways to create more housing on both a permanent and temporary basis.
Sonoma County is updating its community wildfire protection plan and seeking community input
Fire Safe Sonoma is hosting a set of workshops in early May to solicit input on the update of the Sonoma County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), which was last updated in 2016.
Decker to take the reins at WUSD
At the April 21 meeting of the Windsor Unified School District Board of Trustees, the board voted to approve the contract that would bring Jeremy Decker to the district as the new superintendent starting July 1. Current superintendent Brandon Krueger announced his retirement earlier this year. The meeting was conducted over Zoom and livestreamed on Facebook.
Car vandals caught
In the early morning hours of Friday March 1 there were five different incidents of vandalism all over the city where vehicles had their windows smashed, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
