New voting system rolled out for 2020

Deva Marie Proto, the County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters, has been making the rounds of local municipalities to help educate the community about the new voting systems and plans in place for 2020 and beyond.

The annual Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic is this weekend in Windsor. As is traditional, festival sponsors and the media got a sneak peek Friday morning. The weather was perfect and the sky above the park was filled with fancifully shaped and colored balloons. The festival is open to the public Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10. The gates open both days at 4 a.m. The "Sonoma Strong" balloon glow takes place before dawn, at 5 a.m. both days, tether rides begin at 6 a.m. and the main launch starts at 6:15 a.m. For tickets and information visit www.schabc.org.

A fire broke out inside of an RV parked on Morris Street in Sebastopol Friday afternoon, Sept. 4.

Ukiah man arrested for hate crime in Bodega Bay

On Saturday, June 13, Sonoma County deputies working together with Ukiah Police Department arrested 43-year-old Anthony Pelfrey of Ukiah for being a felon in possession of pepper spray, illegal use of pepper spray and a hate crime.

Firefighters rescue man from Fitch Mountain Cliff
