AAt its regular public meeting on Aug, 17, the City council At its regular public meeting, the council began with a proclamation acknowledging Women’s Equality Day, the 106th anniversary of the enactment constitutional amendment which secured the right to vote for women.

The Friends of the Sebastopol Library book sale is back, charging a buck per book on Sunday, March 6 from 10 a.m. to 4.p.m. Vice President Walt Frazer said it’s been two years since the last book sale was canceled in March 2020, gulped down with the rest of public life by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Former Windsor Police Chief Carlos Basurto has released a statement on social media discussing his recent battle with COVID-19, which culminated in a 20-day hospital stay, including intubation and six days of unconsciousness. Basurto retired in May 2019 after two and a half years in the post.

Healdsburg’s Russian River Railroad Bridge is the sole remaining example of a steel Subdivided Warren Truss bridge on the former line of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad. The Cloverdale City Council meeting on June 9 is bound to be a long one, as the council is slated to hold three public hearings — for its water and wastewater rate increases, one for its 2021-22 budget and a third for its landscaping and lighting assessment districts — as well as conduct interviews with the end goal of appointing and swearing in a new council member. As part of the County of Sonoma's increased COVID-19 testing efforts, a pop-up virus testing site will be coming to Cloverdale this Thursday, Oct. 29 from 9 to 11 a.m.
