Reopening plans, bond sales on tap for school board meeting
At its regular meeting this week, the Cloverdale Unified School District (CUSD) Board of Trustees will be viewing a handful of presentations, including an update about the 2020-21 school reopening plan, as well as discussing classroom capacity limits, approving the sale of general obligation bonds and revising the district’s declaration of need for fully qualified educators. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and is viewable via Zoom.
Healdsburg school district is switching to optional, highly recommended masking
This week, the Healdsburg Unified School District (HUSD) Board of Trustees voted unanimously to eliminate its mask requirement, making masks optional but strongly recommended starting March 17 for secondary schools — Healdsburg Junior High School and Healdsburg High School — and starting Monday, April 11 for elementary schools.

Vandals damage fountains, trees and more on Town Green
Overnight between Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13, person or persons unknown wreaked a bit of havoc at the fountains, trees and surrounding areas of the Windsor Town Green.
Victory parade
A parade of some 30-odd cars filled with joyous voters wound its way from Santa Rosa to the Windsor Town Green, celebrating the victory of president-elect Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris. Cars were decorated with flags, banners and stickers, and drivers honked their horns and waved and cheered at the small crowd greeting them at the Green. California state senator Mike McGuire and newly elected Rohnert Park Councilmember Jackie Elward were participants in the parade organized by Pat Sabo of the Sonoma County Democrats.
WSCUHSD board to appoint new trustee at Sept. 22 meeting
A new face may be joining the West Sonoma County Union High School District (WSCUHSD) school board by the end of its Sept. 22 special meeting, where the board will interview and appoint a new trustee to take former trustee Laurie Fadave’s place.
