Del Rey and Potmesil poised to win school board trustee seats
Mike Potmesil and incumbent Donna Del Rey appear to have won the two-seat Healdsburg Unified School District school board trustee race, with Del Rey getting 27.9 percent of the votes followed closely by Potmesil with 27.5 percent of the votes as of Wednesday morning according to the Sonoma County Registrar’s of Voters. While the projections indicate Potmesil and Del Rey as the winners, the final vote count will not be officially completed for another 30 days.
Measure M: Voters OK sales tax hike to fund parks
Sonoma County voters approved a local sales tax hike this week to pay for overdue park improvements and upkeep with the passage of Measure M on Tuesday’s ballot.Â

Healdsburg Turkey Trot slated for Nov. 22
The annual Healdsburg Turkey Trot 5K race waddles back into town Nov. 22 and is expected to draw a crowd of runners, walkers and turkey hat wearers for the event, which raises funds for Live Like Drew, a college scholarship for local student athletes.
Inclusionary and affordable housing to be discussed at Healdsburg City Council meeting on Nov. 5
Monday’s Healdsburg City Council meeting will cover two large-scale topics, an inclusionary housing agreement for the Oaks at Foss Creek and affordable housing guidelines. The council will also consider member appointments for the transportation commission.
