Songwriters in Paradise, a so-far barely-known, exclusive music and wine festival that is coming to Healdsburg for its second year, is a curated experience akin to having a backstage pass where one gets to know the inside stories and jokes.Â

A hedgerow grows at the Sebastopol Grange
Shortly before COVID-19 shut down the world in March 2020, Sebastopol Grange President Laura Shafer started a conversation with Miles Sarvis-Wilburn, the program director of the Sonoma County Beekeepers Association, about planting a flower garden in back of the Grange Hall on Highway 12.
Rapid COVID-19 tests in short supply in California
Sarah Voit likes to keep 10 to 15 rapid test kits on hand in case any of the residents of the Family Emergency Shelter Coalition in Hayward need to be tested for COVID-19. They’ve had some infection scares, and the antigen tests — which return results in minutes — have been crucial to curbing the virus in the family shelter.

This marks the first litter delivered by the 3.5-year-old mother cat (named P11 for the study), who in September was captured and fitted with a GPS-tracking collar just outside the park’s boundary.
Back to the drawing board for dog park plans
At the Feb. 10 meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission, staff presented the outcome of nearly two years of work on adding a new dog park to Windsor, including two options for new locations. However, concerns about the chosen locations and communication with the public and potentially impacted neighbors ultimately saw the commissioners sending the plan back to staff for further outreach and analysis.
Silliness or BS?
Readers owe a debt of gratitude to the Board of Directors of the Healdsburg Tourism Improvement District (HTID). We have rarely seen a letter that provided, word for word, greater entertainment value than the board’s response to a letter suggesting that transient tax money should now be reallocated from tourism promotion to low-income housing. We encourage readers to dig through their old papers, or go to the Tribune online, to again enjoy with us this amazing missive.
