Fire at Sonoma and Mendocino county lines fully contained

A fire began on the west side of Highway 101 on the Sonoma County and Mendocino county line Thursday night, Aug. 26. At 11:33 p.m., roughly two hours after the fire was initially reported, it was declared contained, with two engines staying on the scene to monitor the situation.

Local salons adjust to opening with limited capacity

As Healdsburg hair salons start getting used to reopening, many are trying to strike a balance between rescheduling the mass list of clients who had appointments scheduled when the county’s shelter-in-place order was issued, and meeting or exceeding the guidelines set forth by the county and the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.

Sunday morning, 12:43am, an unwanted person was at John & Zeke's on Healdsburg Avenue. The person requested that people empty their pockets. The person then hid in the bathroom and refused to leave. Officer responded. Subsequently, the person exited the bar and waited for a ride.

Rotary Crab Feast staying virtual this year

The 42nd annual Rotary Club of Healdsburg Crab Feast will take place virtually again this year. The live auction will be broadcasted via YouTube and the silent auction will be offered via the Greater Giving website.

The band plays on at HUSD meeting

The first meeting of 2017 of the Healdsburg Unified School District Board of Trustees got of to a raucous start as the Healdsburg Junior High/High School Band opened the meeting with performance, led by teacher and bandleader John Natelli. The full house cheered at the music, which set the tone for a generally cheerful meeting.

When the Time Comes
At the end of 2025, the Healdsburg City Council approved 'When the Time Comes,' a new program designed to help residents navigate end-of-life planning and support. The WTTC program gets underway this month, a resource hub at the Senior Center handling questions, concerns and complexities related to the final decisions an individual or a family must make.

Among this week's entries: "8:29am The Reporting Party (RP) stated that while he was leaving Safeway on Vine Street the previous day, he saw a vehicle back into his vehicle. He tried to get the driver’s attention but the person drove off. The RP was not the owner of the vehicle and stated the vehicle was a company car. An officer advised the RP to have the owner of the vehicle call the police department if the owner wanted a report...."
