On Wednesday, Feb. 28, at approximately 3:09 p.m., the Healdsburg Police Department responded to the intersection of Matheson Street and University Street to a hit-and-run.

At the last meeting before their July break, the Windsor Unified School District Board of Trustees is focusing on finishing up the previous year’s business and getting ready for the coming year.

Healdsburg District Hospital is co-hosting a drive-thru COVID-19 testing event with Sonoma County Public Health on Saturday, May 30 between 3 and 7 p.m., in its Emergency Department parking lot, which is accessed from the 1312 Prentice Drive entrance. This event will expand the reach of the Public Health’s testing program by collecting data from residents in the northern and western sections of the county with a focus on the Latinx community.

A public hearing on the proposed 120-room resort on the Russian River in Guernewood Park, originally scheduled by the county’s Board of Zoning Adjustments (BZA) for Oct. 28, has been postponed until an unannounced date in early 2022. The hearing was postponed at the request of newly-appointed BZA member Eric Koenigshofer who asked for more study time on the 9.61-acre project.

The Career Technical Education Foundation Sonoma County has been approved for a $1 million grant from Tipping Point Community, a prominent Bay Area funder that fights poverty in the Bay Area, to support expansion of a successful local youth training program called the North Bay Construction Corps. The funding is part of their Emergency Relief Fund, established to support the North Bay’s recovery and rebuilding efforts following the devastating fires last year that damaged thousands of homes and businesses.

Nov. 20: 2:59pm Petty theft occurred at Healdsburg High School on Prince Avenue. A week prior, AirPods were stolen. The RP tracked the location of the AirPods to an address. At the Sept. 2 meeting of the Windsor Town Council, up for discussion will be the town’s tree ordinance, a discussion of the sewer system, and delegates will be chosen for an upcoming event.

The Windsor Unified School District (WUSD) Board of Trustees will be receiving updates on district construction, the 45-day revision of the district budget and its COVID-19 safety measures at the board’s next meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 17. Its only discussion item will be considering the approval of procedures and guidelines for the lease-leaseback contractor for the portable replacement project at Cali Calmecac. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and will be held in person at the Windsor Town Council chambers at 9291 Old Redwood Highway, Building 400. Attendees are required to wear masks.
