Following record October rains, Healdsburg downgrades water shortage plan
The city of Healdsburg is scaling back its water conservation measures from Stage 3 of the city’s water shortage contingency plan to Stage 2, which targets a 20% reduction in water usage citywide by prohibiting certain uses of water. It had previously been targeting a 40% reduction in water use.
Less is more
For some members of the Healdsburg community who took pride in Healdsburg being a big school district, enrollment decline may seem unfavorable. However, the research over the last 30 years on school size has demonstrated over and over that less is more. HUSD’s current enrollment of 1,850 students is an advantage, not just because there is more money per student but also because of the more intimate, personalized learning environment it creates. All felony grant theft charges against Amy Joy Covin, the owner of the popular Amy’s Wicked Slush eatery, have been dropped and the case has been dismissed, according to Sonoma County’s case database portal.
