Windsor council deadlocked over how to fill vacant council seat

The Windsor Town Council is still at an impasse when it comes to deciding how to fill its vacant town council seat and with no plans to revisit the discussion at the next council meeting on July 21, the vacancy topic will likely be placed on the ballot of the next available election date, April 12, 2022. Half of the council, Councilmembers Debora Fudge and Esther Lemus were in favor of appointing someone to the position, with Mayor Sam Salmon and Vice Mayor Rosa Reynoza in favor of holding an election.

Analy and El Molino to consolidate, Laguna students to move to El Molino campus

It’s official. El Molino High School students will head to Analy High School this coming fall. The West Sonoma County Union High School District (WSCUHSD) board voted 3-2 to consolidate the schools during a meeting on March 10 in the face of an ongoing financial meltdown.

Layoffs coming before WUSD board Feb. 17

At their Feb. 17 meeting, the Windsor Unified School District (WUSD) Board of Trustees will consider recommendations to lay off over 20 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees, in addition to considering two items related to high school mathematics, receiving an auditor’s report, potentially approving the total base rent for portables to house Cali students while a permanent classroom building is built, and the potential issuance of $14.6 million in Measure F general obligation bonds.

County gives the green light to reopen hair salons, indoor dining, retail, faith services

Sonoma County Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase announced Friday that starting Saturday, June 6, in-person faith-based services, indoor retail shopping and dining, hair salons and barbershops will be allowed to reopen in Sonoma County with mitigation measures in place such as facial coverings and social distancing.
