Occidental man arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor

The Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) arrested Peter Duranceau, 25, of Occidental, on April 15 following an investigation that found Duranceau to be the suspect in a sexual assault case involving a minor, as well as one where he’s suspected of trying to arrange a meeting with a minor with the intent to engage in sexual conduct.

Cleaning up Kleiser Park

Over the past couple of weeks, Cloverdale Rotarians spent time cleaning up and decorating Kleiser Park. As part of their work, the group repaired the park's sprinkler system, pruned trees and shrubs, raked leaves and got the park's lights working  — they also decorated a bit for the holidays.

Despite COVID, things are off to a good start at WUSD

At their Aug. 18 meeting, the Windsor Unified School District Board of had a mercifully short, but important, agenda, relating to the impact of COVID-19 on the district. The meeting was conducted with particular alacrity as the board, who were all on Zoom, raced the predicted rolling blackouts from the heatwave. They managed to get all official business done before the blackouts removed their quorum.

Sebastopol City Council preview

The Sebastopol City Council is facing a small agenda this week, with half of its public hearing items pushed back to a later date. What remains during the council’s June 1 meeting is a public hearing on the annual assessment of the city’s Lighting Special Assessment District, a public hearing on weed abatement, approval of a letter of support for AB 965 and giving direction on which mayor to appoint to the 2021 City Selection Committee and Sonoma County Mayors and Councilmembers Association, following the resignation of Cloverdale’s mayor.
