LAFCO dissolves the Palm Drive Health Care District
On Wednesday, Aug. 5, the Sonoma Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) voted unanimously to dissolve the Palm Drive Health Care District. LAFCO’s action was recorded with the county the next day. The County of Sonoma, the successor agency for the health care district, now inherits all of the district's assets, liabilities, debts, records and taxing authority.
SRJC Dream Center expands to offer free legal advice to undocumented students
The Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) Dream Center, on the Santa Rosa campus, has expanded and in February will begin an ongoing partnership with Vital Immigrant Defense Advocacy and Services (VIDAS), an organization that provides free legal advice and services to undocumented students. This partnership will likely emerge as a cornerstone in best practices for Community College Dream Centers, and SRJC is proud to be a leader throughout the country in this regard.

In response to public demand, the Healdsburg City Council is limiting the number of tasting rooms allowed downtown and is starting to look at ways (zoning changes etc.) to cap the number of hotels in town, or at least downtown. These are changes I am happy to see coming.
