County loans available for home improvement
Since 2009, the Sonoma County Energy Independence Program known as SCEIP (pronounced “Skype”) has made almost $83 million in loans to 2,572 county residents for renewable energy and water conservation improvements to their homes or businesses.
HUSD board gives the green light for ethnic studies course
Starting next year, all Healdsburg High School freshmen will be required to take a one-semester ethnic studies course. The implementation of the course comes after several years of work to address inequality in the school district.
Cloverdale City Council discussing council vacancy, drought conditions
At its regular meeting on Wednesday, May 12, the Cloverdale City Council will discuss its newly vacant council seat, consider proclaiming a local emergency due to drought conditions and annual assessments for Landscaping and Lighting Assessment District Zones 1-7. The council will also reorganize, selecting a mayor for the term ending in December 2021 and appointing a vice mayor, if necessary. Voter guides arriving soon for west county special elections
According to an announcement from the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters, voters in west county should start receiving their voter guides for the March 2 Special Election soon. Guides will start being mailed out to voters on Jan. 21.
