Editor: Santa did not let a little rain stop him from visiting
the Plaza on Saturday, December 12th. He arrived in good spirits on
the Healdsburg fire truck and delighted in talking to the many
children who came out to visit with him. Thank you Santa for taking
time out from your busy schedule to see us! Santa Saturday was
surprisingly well attended, in spite of the unfortunate weather! We
have many folks to thank for the success of this event: the
Healdsburg Fire Department for taking kids (and parents) on rides
in the fire truck; Costeaux Bakery for the delicious hot chocolate;
the Parks and Rec for the crafts tables where many works of art
were created; Relish for the cookie decorating; Hotel Healdsburg
for the story time; retail stores for their financial support and
participation in the tic tac toe treasure hunt; Aaction Rents for
the much appreciated tent donation, the volunteer elves from the
community, and, of course, the face painter and cheery musicians
who braved the puddles to entertain us while we partied. Weather
does not dampen Healdsburg’s spirit! It was a pleasure working with
Mary Ann from the Chamber of Commerce and Elizabeth from the City
to present this wonderful family event for you. They are top notch
professionals and should be given much credit for the success.
