The All League teams for the North Bay League (Redwood) have been announced for most fall sports. The named players in football will be revealed following the last playoff games this week, on Dec. 1

Hoot Owl is one of the oldest vineyards in Alexander Valley, but for the past seven years it’s been the training and competition course for Healdsburg’s cross country team. Known as the Top of the World for its expansive vineyard views, the 3.1-mile course provides an aerobic hill workout for runners—a challenge not only for Greyhounds but for visiting teams as well.

The Cloverdale cross-country team put the final touches on a strong league season in a dual meet with Clear Lake on the 2.8-mile course at Bothe Park in St. Helena on Nov. 4.

All League selections are nominated by their coaches, and voted on by the entire coaching staff of the league. Given that the Healdsburg Greyhounds fell only midway in the playoff rankings, the choice of Pitcher of the Year is especially noteworthy: Alex Mauro-Manos, only a sophomore on the young Greyhounds team...

It was a successful week on the diamond for Cloverdale High School softball and baseball teams, with each notching victories on the pre-league diamond.

The Healdsburg High girls basketball team dominated Elsie Allen 54-25 in their 2024 North Coast Redwood League opener, led by Allie Espinoza's 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 steals.

It proved to be the most exciting and suspenseful game of the season so far, the Healdsburg Greyhounds lost to the Peregrine Falcons of Archie Williams High in overtime on Saturday afternoon in San Anselmo, 43-42. 

It’s been a strong showing under first-year coach Cassidy Jourdan, who herself was a Healdsburg High star athlete—not only in basketball but volleyball and softball as well during her four years at HHS, from 2008–2012. “I loved sports,” she said. “I loved them all. I even went to college for sports management. It really was my entire life.”
