‘Word Art’ in everyday life
Word/Art Month culminates with a reading by former California Poet Laureate David Gioia on Friday, April 24, at The 222. Gioia, also the former head of the National Endowment for the Arts, will be joined by two other state poets laureate, Denise Low of Kansas and and former Colorado Poet Laureate David Mason.
Yale Whiffenpoofs to land on Raven stage Sunday
The very name “Whiffenpoofs” is whimsical, but followers of the collegiate music space know that the repertoire and reputation of this Yale University a cappella group is anything but laughable. Sure there are old Yale drinking songs, certainly a bit of jazz-era energy, as well as more modern pop. But are they classical? And what exactly is a “whiffenpoof” anyway?

Shhh... don’t tell anybody. Shelter Cove is a really cool place to go fishing. I know I have shared this secret place with you before and before too long I probably will have to fight the hordes of anglers to get out to the fishing grounds, but fishermen are notoriously bad secret keepers so I am not going to even try.
