Photo gallery: Small grass fire erupts in north Windsor
At approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 31 a small grass fire erupted in an empty field along Old Redwood Highway, just east of the terminus of Starr Road. The field sits between AAction Rents and McLea’s Tire, though neither business suffered damage as a result of the blaze.
Windsor Town Council reviews lighting and landscape district assessments
At its meeting on April 21, the Windsor Town Council proceeded with the second of three meetings regarding the assessments of the town’s lighting and landscape districts. The districts help support the cost of maintaining parks, streetlights, street landscaping and the Windsor Senior Center. An increase in the assessment cost based on the cost of living index is being proposed and will be discussed at a public hearing on Jun 16.
WSCUHSD in early mapping stages for switch to trustee-area elections
The switch to a by-trustee area election method is underway at West Sonoma County Union High School District (WSCUHSD), inviting community feedback on mapping voting areas at its first public hearing on Sept. 14.
