Sheriff’s office investigating homicide in Camp Meeker
On Feb. 12 at approximately 4 p.m., Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies responded to a house in Camp Meeker for a reported suicide. Detectives are now investigating the incident as a homicide.

 Racers took to the water on May 4 for the Great Russian River Fun Race in northern Healdsburg. The race ran five miles down to Memorial Bridge and included divisions for men’s and women’s kayak, stand-up paddle boards and canoes. There were also a few in costume as is tradition for the event.Â

Sebastopol City Council preview
The Sebastopol City Council meeting on June 15 is all public hearings — one for the annual solid waste collection adjustment and one for the 2021-22 city budget. The council had another public hearing planned, for the city’s Capital Improvement Program, but it’s anticipated that it will be continued to June 21. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and is being held virtually over Zoom and via the city’s livestream page.
