Racers took to the water on May 4 for the Great Russian River Fun Race in northern Healdsburg. The race ran five miles down to Memorial Bridge and included divisions for men’s and women’s kayak, stand-up paddle boards and canoes. There were also a few in costume as is tradition for the event.

City Council Finds the Formula to Limit Brand Retail Stores
Along with the downtown limits on formula stores, the new ordinance formalizes the longstanding ban on big-box stores (think Walmart) and outlet malls (think Petaluma) throughout the city. Such a ban does little to impinge on consumer opportunities, as Walmart, Home Depot and other similar big boxes can be found just down the road in Windsor or Santa Rosa.
