Good Shepherd gets a window makeover
Over the past summer, Cloverdale’s Good Shepherd Episcopal Church began replacing all of the glass windows in the church with stained-glass ones — each window a reflection of the beauty surrounding Cloverdale. One window, located in the front entrance of the church, has a slightly different story — it was found in a Healdsburg antique shop and donated to the church by Gene and Carolyn Marcinkowski after they realized that it would be a perfect fit for the space.
Recall campaigners seek signatures during canceled WSCUHSD board meeting time
Not everyone stayed home after the West Sonoma County Union High School District (WSCUHSD) announced the board’s first meeting back in person was canceled for the evening of Aug. 18.
Healdsburg garbage rates to go up
The Healdsburg City Council agreed to a new 15-year term contract with Recology for garbage services with a new residential rate of $26.12 for 32-gallon bins at its meeting Monday night, May 18.

Two new hires coming down to Windsor from Cloverdale
Last year, Windsor hired a new superintendent of schools by pulling from their neighbor to the north, Cloverdale. This year, they’re doing it again, welcoming two new administrators down from Cloverdale. Susan Yakich, currently principal of Jefferson Elementary in Cloverdale will be taking over the top spot at Mattie Washburn in Windsor, and current Cloverdale High School Principal Chris Meredith will be taking over as human resources director for the district.
One dead in collision near Healdsburg
A five-car accident that occurred yesterday afternoon at southbound U.S. Highway 101 and Old Redwood Highway/Healdsburg Avenue exit just south of Healdsburg has left one person dead and others with minor to moderate injuries, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Public Information Officer David deRutte.
Graffiti Weekend
The recent holiday weekend saw a raft of graffiti tags throughout town, with a total of 11 incidents reported to Healdsburg Police between Friday, Sept. 1, and Monday, Sept. 3—with another just a couple of days earlier, on Aug. 30.
