Commentary: A decade of standing for peace
Ten years ago this month, more than 100 Healdsburg Peace Project members and supporters gathered on the Plaza to protest the threat of a U.S. invasion of Iraq. The protesters believed that the U.S. had no right to invade a sovereign country and that the reasons for war given to the American people were lies. History eventually confirmed this, and the price paid has been horrible.
Zombies will march for charities in upcoming event
Zombies will be staggering around the Healdsburg Plaza and taking over downtown sidewalks on Oct. 16 for a new charity event called the Sonoma County Zombie Movement, which aims to raise funds for the National Brain Tumor Society and the Redwood Empire Food Bank.

Voter guides arriving soon for west county special elections
According to an announcement from the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters, voters in west county should start receiving their voter guides for the March 2 Special Election soon. Guides will start being mailed out to voters on Jan. 21.
