In a recent letter, the Windsor Unified School District (WUSD) announced it has updated its 2020-21 school calendar. The first part of the update reflected the fact that due to a public safety power shutoff (PSPS) on Aug. 17, which affected much of Windsor and made the opening of school a day later, on Aug. 18.

Deputies arrest Santa Rosa man on multiple felonies after suspected attack in Camp Meeker
Deputies arrested a Santa Rosa man suspected of breaking into a woman’s home and attacking her in Camp Meeker before he led officers on a roughly six-mile car chase until the suspect lost a tire and spun out Saturday night, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page.

Returning for its 10th year is Dia de Muertos, the Mexican folk holiday that has found a new home north of the border since 2016. Dia de Muertos was first recognized locally to mark Corazón’s inaugural community event, where it introduced the newly established organization to Healdsburg.
