Food bank needs help amid increased demand
Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, the Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) has been providing the equivalent of over 80,000 meals to people in need per day, a 50% increase up from last year, and with the drastic change in demand, the organization says they are in dire need of more funds, food and volunteers.
Humane Society offers free veterinary services for county fire victims
In response to the unprecedented disaster which has affected the community so deeply, the Sonoma Humane Society is launching charity veterinary services for pet owners who have suffered financial loss in recent fires and need assistance to care for their pets. Services are limited to basic wellness care and urgent fire related injuries.

In statements on social media, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department and the Windsor Police Department reported the news of the passing of K-9 Mako. Mako was a 3 ½ year old Belgian Malinois, and he had served the Windsor community for two years with his partner Deputy Alan Collier. His performances, especially his takedowns, have been a highlight of the last two years of National Night Out on the Town Green.
