City to revisit strategic plan, energy efficiency at next meeting

While the agenda is a relatively short one for the upcoming Aug. 17 Healdsburg City Council meeting, there are a few items of interest such as discussing and approving updates to the city goals, a consideration to implement a temporary increase in the electric low-income discount and a consideration to adopt a resolution approving income-qualified energy efficiency programs.

Man arrested after Sebastopol stabbing

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man for attempted murder in Sebastopol on Thursday, Aug. 13. James Freeman, 37, of Sonoma, was arrested following a stabbing on 4500 block of Bartleson Road.

Man dies in custody in Guerneville

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) announced Saturday afternoon, Aug. 15, that earlier in the day a man died while in custody in Guerneville.

Day at the Coast

The local Sonoma County coast is popular during these days of the COVID-19 pandemic when many people are seeking a respite from too much sheltering-in-place. Not all the coastal scenes are crowded beaches or closed parking lots. There are also some scenes that depict “life as normal.”

Bobcats, mountain lions sighted around Fitch Mountain

According to a number of posts on the social media page “What’s Happening Healdsburg” by several Fitch Mountain residents and neighbors, there have been several recent bobcat and mountain lion sightings throughout the area.
