Country Summer postponed to 2021, virtual event planned for June
Country Summer, Northern California’s biggest country music festival has been postponed until June 25 to 27, 2021. Country Summer was meant to take place in June 2020, but when California was hit hard by COVID-19, the annual three-day event was rescheduled for Oct. 23 to 25, 2020.

District proposing cuts for upcoming school year
The Healdsburg Unified School District is looking for ways to save money next year in response to the economic downturn from the COVID-19 pandemic. The district is proposing certain cuts such as leaving several vacant positions unoccupied, as well as reducing professional development, cutting the freshman seminar class for the year and a 20% reduction to individual school site budgets, among others. The suggested cuts include the layoff of only one employee, a special education bus driver.

Ukiah man arrested for hate crime in Bodega Bay
On Saturday, June 13, Sonoma County deputies working together with Ukiah Police Department arrested 43-year-old Anthony Pelfrey of Ukiah for being a felon in possession of pepper spray, illegal use of pepper spray and a hate crime.
