Sonoma County’s private businesses come in all shapes and sizes. But none of them are either too big or too small to avoid the economic impacts of the ongoing public health emergency caused by the spread of the COVID-19 virus and the resulting global pandemic.

So, school’s out, and parents are home with the kiddos. Many of them will have some form of school work to do, but since even playdates are a “not suggested” activity, you may find yourself with antsy kids and not able to stand one more rendition of “Into the Unknown,” because as we all know, “Frozen 2” is about to be on permanent repeat in most houses. After further sessions at the negotiating table with the Healdsburg Area Teachers Association (HATA), Healdsburg Unified School District (HUSD) Superintendent Chris Vanden Heuvel said the district has put forth a 10.8% offer, a change from their initial offer in January of a 4.5% salary increase.

Sonoma County residents ordered to shelter in place

Sonoma County health officer Sundari Mase has issued a health order directing residents to shelter in place effective at midnight (12 a.m.) on Wednesday, March 18. This health order will be in place for three weeks until April 7. The health order limits activity, travel and business functions to only the most basic and essential needs.

Healdsburg Chamber installs new officers to begin a new year

There was a changing of the guard at the annual meeting of the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce as the board chair’s gavel was passed from Cartograph Wines owner Alan Baker to Shelley Anderson, of the Healdsburg High Academic Internship Program. New and returning board members also took the oath of office during the meeting, held March 5 at the CraftWork space in the downtown Mitchell Center.
